Halloween has the shortest window of any season we work — two weekends, in practice — and the widest gap between "frightening" and "elegant". Make that call before you pick a character, because it changes everything that ends up in the photographs.

The dark register belongs to Necro King, Brain Reaper, Shadow Beak and White Walkers: masks, oversized silhouettes, entrances that make people flinch. The stylised register belongs to La Catrina, Maleficent, Silver Gheisa and Moon & Sun, which also work at a corporate event where you want to mark the date without frightening anybody.
As a format, living statues are the best Halloween money you can spend: the stillness does half the work, and a character placed near the entrance produces the reaction you are after with every new group that walks in. Ghost Angels and Jack Skellington add the height, if your event is outdoors or in a large space.
Two weekends a year means dates overlap between clients. If yours is fixed, book from September; if you can move the day, there is usually still room later on, even for the most requested characters.
